Lugano Campus: map, access, facilities

The campus is open to the public from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Student cards and employees’ badges ensure access 24 /7 to the corridors and classrooms of the Main Building.
• Master students also have access to the study area on the 5th floor of the library.
• Employees also have access 24 / 7 to their respective places of work (offices, classrooms).

If events (lectures, seminars) are organized in areas to which employees do not have access, the services responsible for the booking of rooms will supply the required “keys” (validated badges). Alternatively, you can ask for your own badge to be validated for additional areas by contacting the IT Service.

The Lugano Campus offers members of the USI community:

• a library;
• various study areas equipped with PCs and printers;
• Wi-Fi connection in all parts of the campus;
• a canteen ("mensa") and cafeteria;
• a number of lockers;
• a bancomat (ATM), located on the 1st floor of the main building (near the entrance / exit at the rear of the building);
• a copy-and-print facility ("Copy center");
• a bike sharing station.

Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the campus.

BY TRAIN

From Lugano railway station, you can reach the Lugano Campus by bus, on foot or by bike.

• By bus
  Bus TPL Line 6, direction Cornaredo. Alight at the Università stop.
  Travel time: around 8-10 minutes’ ride in normal traffic conditions.
  Other lines that stop at Università: Bus TPL Line 5, Bus ARL Line 461
   
• On foot
  See route on map (possibility to take the funicular from inside the station towards the city centre).
  Travel time: approximately 20 minutes.
   
• By bike

BY CAR
A2 highway: take the Lugano Nord exit. See the route on this map.

Milano-Malpensa, Milano-Linate and Milano-Orio al Serio Airports are within a radius of 60-100 km from Lugano. There are trains to and from Milano-Malpensa Airport.
