Study and relaxation areas on the Lugano Campus

1. FULL ACCESS STUDY AREAS

The main study areas on the West Campus Lugano are:

  • room 128 ("white tables" room), Main Building (building no. 1), level 1;
  • room 156, Main Building (building no. 1), level 1.
    The room is generally always available for study purposes, unless booked for courses / exams - click here to check.
  • room 157, Main Building (building no. 1), level 1.
    The room is generally always available for study purposes, unless booked for courses / exams - click here to check.
  • room 159, Main Building (building no. 1), level 1.
    The room is generally always available for study purposes, unless booked for courses / exams - click here to check.

All the study areas mentioned above are accessible 24 / 7 using your student card and are covered by the campus Wi-Fi network. Access to PCs is via the CAMPUS account.

 

Before and during exam sessions

In addition, the rooms listed below are also available before and during exam sessions:

  • room 250, Main Building (building no. 1), level 2;
  • room 253, Main Building (building no. 1), level 2;
  • room 254, Main Building (building no. 1), level 2.

These classrooms will be accessible 24 / 7 during this period.

 

 

2. STUDY AREAS WITH DEFINED SCHEDULES

During the semesters

During the semesters, the full access study areas are complemented by the possibility of using a number of classrooms after the normal lessons. These rooms are available for group work and individual study:

  • For workgroups
    Rooms: 250, 253 and 254, Main Building (building no. 1), level 2
    Schedule: Mon-Fry 6.30PM - 10PM, Sat-Sun 9AM - 6PMexcept when special events occur.
  • For individual study
    Room: 130, Main Building (building no. 1), level 1
    Schedule: Mon-Fry 7AM - 7PM

    Further classrooms will be available on a daily basis, subject to availability.

 

Before and during exam sessions

In addition to the full access study areas, before and during the exam sessions one or more classrooms will be open for individual study on a daily basis, subject to availability. These additional classrooms, and relevant times, will be indicated, on a daily basis, on the information display at the entrance to the Main Building.

 

 

3. LIBRARY

In addition to the areas mentioned above, there are 200 work stations in the campus library (building no. 8). A number of them are equipped with PCs. The library areas are also covered by the campus Wi-Fi network. During term time and examination sessions, the library is open from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Please consult the library website for further information: https://en.bul.sbu.usi.ch/

 

 

4. RELAXATION AREAS

During breaks, particularly the lunch break, students may use room 120 (Main Building, level 1), which is equipped with a microwave oven. The room is accessible 24 / 7 using your student card.
