German in Economics – Wirtschaftsdeutsch
The Laboratory of Modern Languages is USI's University language centre. It offers German language courses from A1.1 level up to B2.2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Each course aims to develop oral and written comprehension and oral and written production skills.
The courses are free of charge for the members of the academic community of Università della Svizzera italiana, subject to availability. Wirtschaftsdeutsch is integrated with the language requirements of the Bachelor's degree courses of the Faculty of Economics and the Bachelor's degree of the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society and the Master's degree courses.

Wirtschaftsdeutsch / German in Economics level B2+ - Academic Year 26/27
The Wirtschaftsdeutsch B2 course, which is open to USI students and employees of all Faculties, is particularly recommended for students in the Faculty of Economics, students in the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, and scientific employees. The Wirtschaftsdeutsch certificate enhances the C.V. with a view to professional activity in Switzerland or Germany.

Final Evaluation
During the semester, verification of acquired knowledge involves writing an argumentative text. In addition, students give a short paper. The final written exam takes place during the last class of the semester. The final grade is composed as follows: argumentative text or written commentary completed during the semester 20%, presentation given during the semester 40%, final written exam 40%.

Descrittivo corso Wirtschaftsdeutsch
Obiettivi e descrizione
Le competenze linguistiche sono un vantaggio competitivo determinante sul mercato del lavoro. Il tedesco, con i suoi cento milioni di parlanti in Europa, occupa una posizione importante in questo contesto. La rilevanza del tedesco è particolarmente alta in Svizzera, dove su scala nazionale è lingua maggioritaria.
Partendo da un livello B2 del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue QCER, il corso Wirtschaftsdeutsch approfondisce la conoscenza del tedesco nelle aree di competenza: ricezione, produzione, interazione e mediazione. L'attenzione si focalizza su argomenti economici: vengono trattati vari campi tematici nel contesto dell’economia, della politica finanziaria e dell’imprenditorialità, al fine di consolidare strutture argomentative e particolarità grammaticali e lessicali della lingua dell’economia.
L’attestato Wirtschaftsdeutsch arricchisce il CV in vista di un’attività professionale in ambito germanofono.
Contenuti
Testi tratti da varie pubblicazioni o, in alcuni casi, brevi sequenze video, serviranno come introduzione ai rispettivi argomenti tematici. Forniscono una visione della realtà economica oppure trattano temi concreti di attualità. Il lavoro sui testi mira in primo luogo alla comprensione dei processi economici.
L’insegnamento comprende inoltre strutture di argomentazione, strumenti per l'interpretazione dei grafici e per la discussione, nonché esercizi di coesione testuale e di dialogo.
Ogni unità tematica è completata da una sezione con esercizi che ne riprendono il vocabolario e con esercizi che approfondiscono un determinato aspetto grammaticale.
Di seguito una scelta di argomenti tematici previsti:
- l’interdipendenza tra Stato ed economia e l’intervento dello Stato nell’economia
- l’equilibrio del mercato
- il ciclo congiunturale – dalla crisi al boom
- la recessione – l’economia in declino
- industria 4.0, platform economy, share economy
- la pirateria dei prodotti
- il denaro: storia e funzione
- la svalutazione della moneta
- la politica monetaria e fiscale dello Stato
- il ruolo delle banche centrali
- il sistema bancario
- le crisi bancarie e le bolle dei prezzi
- la speculazione alimentare
Completeranno il quadro alcuni aspetti sociolinguistici e argomenti scelti di storia dell’economia:
- il paesaggio linguistico della Svizzera e le caratteristiche della lingua standard in Svizzera
- il linguaggio inclusivo compatibile con le attuali regole grammaticali e ortografiche
- caso studio: l’iperinflazione tedesca del 1923
Modalità di insegnamento
Il corso prevede 56 ore di lezione in presenza nel Semestre autunnale, per un totale 4 ore di lezione alla settimana.
Modalità d’esame e ETCS
Durante il semestre la verifica delle conoscenze acquisite prevede la redazione di un testo argomentativo. Inoltre, gli studenti tengono una breve relazione. La prova finale scritta ha luogo durante l’ultima lezione semestrale. La valutazione finale è composta da:
- Il testo argomentativo o il commento scritto durante il semestre (20%)
- La relazione tenuta durante il semestre (40%)
- L’ esame scritto finale (40%)
Per gli studenti iscritti a percorsi di studio che permettono l’ottenimento di crediti ECTS di lingua il corso equivale a 3 ECTS.
