German for econonomists – Wirtschaftsdeutsch

The Modern Languages Laboratory is USI's University language centre. It offers German language courses from A1.1 level up to B2.2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Each course aims to develop oral and written comprehension and oral and written production skills.

The courses are free of charge for the members of the academic community of Università della Svizzera italiana, subject to availability. Wirtschaftsdeutsch is integrated with the language requirements of the Bachelor's degree courses of the Faculty of Economics and the Bachelor's degree of the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society and the Master's degree courses.

Wirtschaftsdeutsch / Business German level B2 part 1 and part 2 - Academic Year 23/24

The Wirtschaftsdeutsch B2 course, which is open to USI students and employees of all faculties, is particularly recommended for students in the Faculty of Economics, students in the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, and scientific employees. The Wirtschaftsdeutsch certificate enhances the C.V. with a view to professional activity in Switzerland or Germany.

Final Evaluation

At the end of the Part 1 and Part 2 courses, there is an assessment of the knowledge acquired. Each part gives entitlement to a partial certificate. The performance assessment includes the writing of an argumentative text at the end of the autumn semester. In the spring semester, students write a short paper, which also serves as the basis for the oral part of the examination in the June session. Only students with an attendance of at least 80% are admitted.

ONLINE ENROLMENT

Courses are activated with a minimum of 8 participants and a maximum of 20 students may participate in each course.

Enrolment is accepted subject to availability and in order of enrolment date. The course will be confirmed by email a few days before it starts.

  • Descrittivo corso Wirtschaftsdeutsch

    Partendo da un livello B2 del Quadro europeo di riferimento per le lingue, il corso approfondisce la conoscenza del tedesco nelle quattro aree di competenza: lettura, ascolto, scrittura e espressione orale. L'attenzione si focalizza su argomenti economici: vengono trattati vari campi tematici, approfonditi in base agli interessi dei partecipanti.

     

    Il lavoro sui testi mira alla comprensione dei processi economici. Testi tratti da varie pubblicazioni forniscono una visione della realtà economica oppure trattano temi concreti di attualità. Alcune sequenze video servono come introduzione ai rispettivi argomenti.

     

    Le lezioni comprendono strutture di argomentazione, strumenti per l'interpretazione dei grafici e la discussione, nonché esercizi di dialogo. Ogni unità è seguita da una sezione con esercizi di vocabolario e struttura, che riprendono tematicamente il vocabolario della rispettiva unità tematica concentrandosi su un determinato aspetto grammaticale.

     

    Di seguito una scelta dei temi previsti:

     

    • interdipendenza tra Stato e economia
    • equilibrio del mercato
    • ciclo congiunturale - dalla crisi al boom
    • recessione – economia in declino
    • industria 4.0, platform economy, share economy
    • pirateria dei prodotti
    • intervento dello Stato nell'economia
    • denaro: storia e funzione
    • svalutazione della moneta
    • politica monetaria e fiscale dello Stato
    • speculazione alimentare
    • sistema bancario
    • ruolo delle banche centrali
    • crisi bancarie e bolle dei prezzi
    • donne nell'economia, confronto tra i paesi europei
    • temi scelti di storia dell’economia (ad es. l'iperinflazione tedesca del 1923)
    • attualità (NZZ, SPIEGEL).

     

    Vengono inoltre trattati, in singole lezioni, i seguenti argomenti:

     

    • caratteristiche della lingua standard in Svizzera
    • paesaggio linguistico della Svizzera
    • linguaggio sensibile al genere, compatibile con le attuali regole grammaticali e ortografiche.
