Established in 2011, and based in Geneva, the Fondation Zdenek et Michaela Bakala (FZMB) is a Swiss non-profit organisation.

The main aim of the FZMB is to award scholarships to eligible postgraduate students and research fellows who do not have the financial means to attend a reputable university in the United States or Great Britain.

The scholarships are intended to support the tuition fees charged by the relevant foreign university, and/or the costs of living in the host country. The annual budget for the foundation's scholarships is approximately CHF 200'000.- which will be allocated for 5 to 10 scholarships. The amount of scholarships varies between CHF 5,000 and CHF 30,000, according to the candidates' needs and study plans.
