The Housing Service manages a database with rental listings, available here:
Other useful links for finding accommodation are listed further below.
Unfortunately, misleading advertisements are constantly posted on the Web. Scammers lure potential customers with very attractive accommodation offers in central locations.
The scam is usually perpetrated while the landlord is temporarily abroad and therefore cannot show the apartment. The person is required to pay in advance a month's rent in order to visit the apartment, or to receive the keys of the same.
Never pay anything before you have seen the living quarters, unless you have full trust in the property owner.
Do a background check of the contractual partner, if something seems unusual.
Keep all correspondence as evidence, and tell us if you have had the impression that one of our ads is from a scammer.
All ads delivered by USI are reviewed before publication. That way, fraud attempts can be discovered and disabled.
