Track System
The Strategy and Entrepreneurship track offers a cluster of courses that explores the interplay between strategy and entrepreneurship, a recent trend in management studies with many relevant implications for organisations competitiveness and sustainability. The main reason to combine strategic management and entrepreneurship is the increasing dynamics affecting today’s markets and competitive arenas, which are more and more disrupted by technological change as well as by social and demographic evolution. The combination of these factors calls for a continuous and systematic business model innovation. In this context, integrating entrepreneurship and strategic management becomes the new way of doing business. Managers now need to be more entrepreneurial in their way of approaching business issues. This is why many companies are looking for employees able to combine strategic management skills with an entrepreneurial attitude and behaviour.
Courses in this track include: Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Innovation, International Business,Writing Business Plans.
Students aiming for careers in innovative private, profit and non-profit organisations will mostly benefit from this track.

The Organization and Human Resources Management track offers an important combination of closely related subjects that are all concerned with organizing and decision making. This track aims at improving future managers’ capabilities in handling, leading, and motivating people, learning from previous experiences, increasing the rationality of decisions, and not being fooled by seemingly obvious, however highly questionable outcomes of Management. Human Resources Management, Organizational Learning, Decision Making, analytical thinking, Design and change, as well as Leadership are the courses in this track. And all of these courses contribute to making students rational and insightful thinkers who base their decisions on valid experiences and know how to deal with internal and interpersonal issues in organizations.
Besides obvious qualifications like expertise in HRM that qualify for HRM Managers the qualifications transmitted in this stream prepare students for a large variety of jobs in organizations. The qualifications students receive in this track allow them to do work in almost every kind of managerial position. Knowing, how to lead subordinates and make rational decisions on solid grounds are qualifications that are needed almost everywhere in modern organizations.
This track is for students that are curious about learning, about handling people and that are ready to life-long learning and students who love to work together with other people and are willing to explore, how leadership qualities can be built and improved.

The Socially Responsible Management track offers a cluster of courses dealing with the social, environmental and long-term responsibility of corporations. The track emphasizes managers need to consider the broader challenges posed to corporations and use their managerial skills to design and manage socially sustainable enterprises. Courses on this track include Corporate Social Sustainability, Business Ethics, Social Entrepreneurship, courses that help students understand the common tradeoffs faced by corporations and how to navigate such tradeoffs to design sustainable organizations.
As organizations today face more stringent social and environmental regulations and associated costs, they reward managers who have the capacity to understand and properly address these challenges. This track takes a broader perspective on such managerial challenges, helping students to be better prepared to address them.
Students who appreciate the broader implications of business practices, who care about social and environmental sustainability, and are curious about the impact of organizations would benefit from the concepts and topics covered in courses in this track.

Slight changes in the study programme may occur.
The Master in Management programme introduced a new track system. Students have the possibility to specialize in their studies. They can choose one of three different specialization tracks:
Each track consists of 18 ECTS, offered in six 3 ECTS courses in the second and third Semesters.
Students do not have to specialize, though. Thus, if they want, they can still follow the previous, general Master programme. The completion of each specialization track will result in a “concentration” reported on the final transcript. The specialization tracks represent highly important areas in the modern business world and thus give the students the opportunity to develop particular expertise in these fields to develop a clearer profile upon entering the job market.

Study plan of the Master in Management – curriculum 2018-2020
The MSc in Management is a full time study programme entirely offered in English. The 120 ECTS are spread over 4 semesters, which correspond to a usual study duration of 2 years.
The degree has two streams in the first semester. Students with a background in economics or management will follow a set of courses which are designed to further build on these areas. Students without any background in economics and management will follow a set of courses which provide the understanding and fundamental insight into the management disciplines. From the second semester the two streams will combine and continue to develop new insights into management processes. The last semester is a unique combination of academic rigor through the writing of a thesis and a piece of applied or consulting work - the field project - which is done in groups for a real company.
